Auch bei der zweiten Auflage von phonoECHOES, dem Wettbewerb für Klangkunst, elektronische Musik und Improvisation, 2021 mit dem Schwerpunkt freie, nicht tonal gebundene Improvisation, waren alle der zahlreichen Einreichungen künstlerisch qualitativ äußerst hochwertig. Umso schwerer war es für die Fach-Jury, bestehend aus Mia Zabelka (Vorsitz/kein Stimmrecht), Viv Corringham, Annette Giesriegl, Richard Graf und Yoko Miura, eine Entscheidung zu treffen.
Nachfolgend die fünf Finalistinnen und Finalisten, die eingeladen sind, ihre Einreichungen bei einem öffentlichen Final-Konzert (voraussichtlicher Termin Herbst 2021) im Klanghaus Untergreith zu präsentieren:
Coma. – Reinhard “Vøid” Hirschauer mit „Eclipse“
This electroacoustic work is full of gorgeous rich sounds. I like the inexorable way that it develops, incorporating distant shouts and calm tonal playing within an intense soundscape. I feel that I am hearing the shifting of tectonic plates as the earth erupts.
Viv Corringham
Johannes Feuchter, Stanislaus Pili mit „über.zeit“
They are more than excellent, great work!! Beyond the emotion, reach to the bottom of being with vibration which was created by acoustic approach. I was inspired and stimulated a lot!!!
Yoko Miura
Elisabeth Kelvin mit „Chasing Traces“
In her proposal, Kelvin writes about leaving the shadows and moving towards the incandescence within daily life. This is a work that gives weight to each musical event. It is delicate and sparse, using space and pauses to great effect. As she herself writes: “Each gesture by the performer reveals.” As I listen to this engaging work, it seems that the spaces between the notes are as significant as the notes themselves.
Viv Corringham
Tahereh Nourani mit „The funambulist“
Tahereh Nouranis solo piece impresses especially with the original idea to combine her free improvisation with body movements and the fineness, which she brings into the sound on her instrument, is outstanding. Her piece develops very smoothly with concious use of space and one can hear precisely the care for every movement.
Annette Giesriegl
Nos Incognito – Guillermo Villegas Alemán, Juan Pablo Trad Hasbun, Vallejo Larre mit „Fis“
In the search of sound, rhythm and interaction these musicians found a way to create new music by incooperating conceptual and improvisational aspects. FIS is a great example of how musicians interact in a sophisticated way.
Richard Graf
Die Siegerwerke werden durch eine Fach-Jury und Publikums-Voting vor Ort ermittelt. Die drei prämierten Künstlerinnen und Künstler erhalten ein Preisgeld von jeweils EUR 700,-. Die Preisverleihung findet im Anschluss an die Aufführung statt. Ein (Live-)Stream der Präsentation ist geplant.
