Der Austrian Music Theatre Day bietet heimischen Musiktheaterschaffenden Netzwerkmöglichkeiten und fachlichen Austausch mit nationalen und internationalen Veranstalter:innen. 2025 steht das Thema Inklusion im Mittelpunkt, mit besonderem Fokus auf Gehörlosigkeit. Neben Fragen der barrierearmen und neuen Zugängen auf personeller und struktureller Ebene wird auch diskutiert, wie Musiktheater künstlerisch so gestaltet werden kann, dass gehörlose Menschen sowohl im Publikum als auch auf der Bühne aktiv teilhaben und ihre Perspektiven in den Kulturbetrieb einbringen können.
The Austrian Music Theatre Day offers local music theater professionals networking opportunities and professional exchange with national and international organizers. In 2025, the focus will be on inclusion, with a special emphasis on deafness. In addition to questions of barrier-free and new forms of access at the personnel and structural level, there will also be discussions on how musical theater can be artistically designed in such a way that deaf people can actively participate both in the audience and on stage and contribute their perspectives to the cultural sector.

The music theatre conference AUSTRIAN MUSIC THEATRE DAY was launched in 2015 as part of the MUSIKTHEATERTAGE WIEN and has been taking place since 2018 in cooperation with mica – music austria/Austrian Music Export.
The MUSIKTHEATERTAGE WIEN festival is dedicated to new musical theatre and explores new performance formats and approaches to it in a variety of ways.
