Soundinstallation „The Spectral Parrot“- Eröffnung der Klanginstallation von Adam Pultz Melbye

The Spectral Parrot is a self-actuating (feedback) instrument with 8 strings, each of which is controlled by a motorized tuner. The motors are controlled by a deep reinforcement learning algorithm that learns to tune the instrument’s strings to approximate a target audio spectrum.

Georg Zichy
Solo

Georg Zichy is a sound, clang, rattle, screech and noise artist. In his solo practice, he performs with found objects and electronics: containers, tablets, bins, ducts, rods, etc are acoustically scratched, bowed and hammered, then
electronically amplified, distorted, and fed back. The object does not merely become an instrument or resonating body, it elevates the relationships between the resulting sound, the emitting body, the performer and listener. Does the object define the sound or the intention of the
performer? Is it perceived as a musical sound or as a noise? Is there a difference?
Zichy lives and works as a freelance artist and musician in Vienna, moving between noise, free improvisation, and a phenomenology of sounds.
