The competition is open to all ages and all music disciplines in the areas of piano, strings, voice, wind and chamber music. The application deadline is March 10th, 2021. The winners get either a recital (category A) in Vienna at Musikverein (Brahms Hall) or a CD recording (category B) which gets distributed worldwide.
In the current pandemic context, the 3rd Vienna International Music Competition has been designed as an online competition: the selection is entirely made through video recordings. The aim of this competition is to find performers with a strong artistic personality and stage presence. The emphasis is therefore not on the purely technical aspect of the performance, but also on the artistic charisma of the performer. Due to the current pandemic context, the videos submitted on the application form can be recorded at home, and the technical quality of the recording will not be taken into consideration.
