Soundinstallation „The Spectral Parrot“
The Spectral Parrot is a self-actuating (feedback) instrument with 8 strings, each of which is controlled by a motorized tuner. The motors are controlled by a deep reinforcement learning algorithm that learns to tune the instrument’s strings to approximate a target audio spectrum.

Adam Pultz Melbye is a double bass player, composer, and improviser working in the field of acoustic and electronic sound. Adam’s work spans live performance, sound installation, sound for dance, theatre, film, multimedia, sculpture, algorithmic design, and instrument building. They have performed and exhibited work in Europe, Australia, the US, and Japan, while appearing on close to 50 albums. Adam often performs with semi-autonomous feedback systems, such as the FAAB (feedback-actuated augmented bass) a feedback double bass created in — collaboration with Halldòr Ùlfarsson. Adam holds a practice-led PhD in music technology from SARC, Queen’s University Belfast.

SquarEars
Duo

Paul Zlattinger & Sebastian Elias Weiss
Sinking deep into vast waters of thoughts. Losing the seemingly firm footing on the ground of reality beneath one’s feet. Letting go of the two-handed grip on consciousness. Instead of fending off the rain of emotions pelting down on the mind, welcoming it with open hands. These are just a few of the possibilities that Paul Zlattinger and Sebastian Elias Weiss offer their listeners through their sounds. As the collective SquarEars, the two close friends transcend new boundaries, allowing themselves and thereby their audience to experience sounds—   — never heard before. Just as spoons provide access to rich soups, the SquarEars use their instruments (violin, guitar) as tools to pass through a portal into mysterious soundscapes.

Berlinde Deman
Solo

Belgian musician Berlinde Deman plays the serpent, a rare 16th-century wind instrument she has spent years mastering, extending its low, melancholy voice through extended techniques, quarter tones, and effects pedals across five deeply personal pieces. The result is an intimate sound world where breath, tone, and distortion intertwine in slow, deliberate passages that unfold like a meditative journey, with Deman’s own voice woven in alongside the ancient instrument she has made unmistakably her own.
