Dominik Beyer stammt aus Bayern und kam ursprünglich nach Wien, um Jazzpiano zu studieren. In Wien fand er zwar ein neues Zuhause, der Jazzclub war es auf Dauer aber nicht: Seitdem ist er mit verschiedenen Bands (Johann Sebastian Bass, Fijuka, Robb, Olympique) vor allem im stilistischen Umfeld von Radio FM4 unterwegs. Er verbrachte eine intensive Zeit als Clubbetreiber, nun arbeitet er hauptsächlich mit seiner Frau Ankathie Koi als Produzent, Arrangeur und Musiker, während er mit den Schnösel-Punkern von Kahlenberg die Wiener Clubs bespielt. Seit 2022 arbeitet er nebenberuflich in der Redaktion wie auch im Beratungsteam von mica – music austria.
Dominik Beyer, a native of Bavaria, originally came to Vienna to study jazz piano, finding a new home in the city. Discovering that he didn’t want to spend his life in jazz clubs, he gravitated to the alternative Radio FM4 scene, performing with bands such as Johann Sebastian Bass, Fijuka, Robb, and Olympique. After an intensive period as a club manager, he now spends the majority of his time accompanying, arranging and producing for his wife, the singer Ankathie Koi, while playing Vienna venues with the highbrow punk band Kahlenberg. He is working part-time in the mica – music austria editorial department and also in the consulting team since 2022.
