FOOTPRINTS – CALL FOR MUSIC-AGENTS

Das aus der JAZZ CONNECTIVE PROJECT hervorgegangene internationale Projekt FOOTPRINTS ruft Musikmanager*innen, Produzent*innen und Konzert-Booker*innen auf, sich bei dem neu ausgeschriebenen Mentorship-Programm zu bewerben.

Footprints is addressed to young and motivated agents willing to develop their experience on tours and European networks. They will be working with musicians applying to the project and put in touch with FT partners in order to benefit from their experience and specific expertise. The participants can be students or graduates of specialized academies, but also people working in the cultural field and wishing to develop a new activity. Participants need to be highly motivated and to show a desire to engage in the development of an entrepreneurial activity. They must have knowledge and skills in the music field and be able to work in autonomy.

Participants must be at least 18 years old and fluent in EnglishParticipants must live in one of these countries:  Poland, Austria, Netherlands, Norway, Slovenia, France

PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

Selected agents will take part in two sessions of training and workshops with professionals in 2021:

  • Les Ateliers Footprints at Périscope 
    (May 2nd – 6th 2022, France) 
  • International Jazz Platform 
    (July 10th – 14th 2022, Poland)

Upon completion of the training programme agents will be paired with FP artists and will be mentored by Footprints partners in order to organize a concert tour in Europe.

All the elements of the programme aim at introducing new skills and providing a better comprehension of social, ecological and economic features that are at stake in the future for the music industry.

2021 SELECTION

From 2021 to 2022, Footprints will be working with a promotion of 6 agents to support them in developing their European network. Selected as promising project leaders from partner countries, Footprints is an opportunity for them to train themselves on artist circulation with better and more responsible standards. Each of them will spend a week together attending masterclasses and workshops with experts before starting a mentorship with Footprints partners in order to launch a tour with selected artists. Next call for applications for agents will be launched in early 2022.

Katarzyna Werner / POLAND

Katarzyna studied in the field of journalism, international communication and culture. In 2012, she decided to set up her own management and booking agency – Twelve Melodies. Katarzyna has worked in the past as Leszek Możdżer and Adam Bałdych manager. Over the last years she collaborated with Lars Danielsson, Zohar Fresco, Andrzej Bauer, Vladislav Sendecki, Helge Lien Trio, Yaron Herman and many others. She is now representing the only Polish women jazz band, O.N.E. Quintet, the guitarist Marek Napiórkowski and singer Dima Orsho.

Judyth Babin / FRANCE

After her studies in the field of Law and Administration, Judyth started her own agency Manag’Art. Besides, she is also CEO founder of Grain(s) de Riz. Since then, she has organized tours in France, Spain, Romania, Martinica, and one in Shanghai with the LABA. Furthermore, she has coordinated the “Jazz à Caudéran” festival. The bands she worked with played in Heineken Jazzaldia Fesitval, Off Jazz in Marciac, Jazz à Megève Festival, Institut Français Zaragoza, Andernos Jazz Festival, Saint-Emillion Jazz Festival…

Malwina Witkowska / NORWAY

One foot in Poland and the other in Norway… Hailing from Warsaw, Malwina has education in Norwegian Language, literature and history, as well as in Culture Management and Leadership. She is a part of Music Norway Master leadership program 20/21 for young and forward-thinking talents in the Norwegian music industry. Malwina launched No Earplugs in the beginning of 2020. It is basically a booking agency for the greatest artists and her musical heroes from Norway, Japan and USA, such as Ingebrigt Håker Flaten and his various projects incl. The Young Mothers and a new quartet with James Brandon Lewis, Chad Taylor and Orphy Robinson; Otomo Yoshihide Special Big Band and many more.

Tom Tanzer / AUSTRIA

Since 2010, Tom runs his own company and he has been working as an artist manager and agent. Main acts of his roster include percussionist and composer Manu Delago and 5piece ensemble 5K HD from Vienna. Within his agency, he counts 9 international albums as well as many video and single releases on UK labels. Besides worldwide touring, 400 shows in 11 years, he has already collaborated with Festivals such as Eurosonic, the Great Escape, Reeperbahn Festival and many more

Robert van der Padt / NETHERLANDS

While studying for his Master of Music in jazz piano, Robert founded his agency Bird Call Bookings in 2015, representing new jazz bands in the Benelux. His bands share a jazz approach to music, yet stand out in individual stories. He created a fully funded national tour for Ikarai’s MURAKAMI project in 2020/2021 and books the acclaimed Yuri Honing Acoustic Quartet worldwide, bringing them to Montréal Jazz, Canarias Jazz & Mas, Gent Jazz, Nordlys Festivalen and others. He’s holding the position of the Booking Agent at the Conservatorium Maastricht, coaching on entrepreneurship and creating opportunities for students. Starting 2021 he is an advisor to the Dutch Performing Arts and a member of the Amsterdam GroenLinks political party’s workgroup Arts&Culture.

Brigita Gračner / SLOVENIA

Brigita’s professional training began with Radio Študent at Ljubljana as a radio producer and music journalist. Later she started to collaborate with the team of radio’s festival Tresk, and became a member of the board of the radio’s record label (ZARŠ Records). She is also currently working as a head of public relations and audience development at Sploh Institute. Through her experiences, Brigita worked with many musicians with the aim to support them and organize concerts.
