TonBild 2011 - Call for Entries

For the very first time, mica - music austria is calling for audiovisual entries for the TonBild2011 competition. Musicians and visual artists of all genres are invited to submit their audiovisual works. We are looking for audiovisual works from the year 2011 with a maximum length of 15 minutes. All participating applicants must either be an Austrian citizen or have their main residence in Austria. The choice of music and content is completely up to the artist, experimental visualizations are just as welcome as classic music videos. As part of TonBild 2011, the five best works will be selected by a jury and presented on the 2nd of December 2011 at the traditional annual celebration in the premises of  mica.

What is Austrian Music Export?
Austrian Music Export is an initiative of the Austrian Music Information Center mica – music austria. Austrian Music Export works in close cooperation with the Austrian Music Fund and the organizers of the Austrian booths at international music trade fairs.

Kollegium Kalksburg

This year the positively wacky trio Kollegium Kalksburg, constisting of Heinz Ditsch, Paul Skrepek and Wolfgang Vincenz Wizlsberger, is celebrating its 15th Anniversary as a true and indispensable institution of Viennese music. Thanks to them, traditonal Viennese songs have experienced a sort of renaissance in recent years. This trio really knows how to wrap traditional Viennese folk music in a most unique modern guise. With a good portion of humor, eagerness to experiment  and driven by the spirit of renewal, the three virtuosic entertainers playfully cover a musical spectrum that reaches from the past to the present. It is an approach that has ultimately brought Viennese songs closer to people who basically have little or nothing to do with this kind of music.
